Crush Recording Studio
Crush Recording is a 1,700-square-foot recording facility in Scottsdale, Arizona owned by producer/engineer Ryan Greene and his partner Steve Smith (president of Radio Ratings Inc.) The tracking and mixing facility is armed with an SSL 9000 J Series console, Pro Tools HD rig with 48-outs, 20x 23 control room, 16x18 live room , Neve and Avalon mic pre-amps, and lots of assorted other outboard gear.
Ryan Greene is best known for working with such bands as NOFX, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, Authority Zero, Good Riddance, Sick Of It All, Big Wig, Stretch Armstrong, Fenix TX, Bracket, Pulley, Propaghandi, Ignite, Nerf Herder, Me First And The Gimmie Gimmes, Ten Foot Pole, Mad Caddies, Megadeth, Tonic, Lita Ford, Cheap Trick, Glades Knight, Patty La Belle, Mr. Big, Wilson Phillips, Tracy Spencer, Dangerous Toys, to name a few.
Ryan Greene, a drummer-turned-live engineer at age 15, became MCA Music Publishing's youngest engineer, promoted from tape duplicator at age 19. "I couldn't even go to a bar and I was engineering some pretty heavy sessions!" he recalls. I worked with Glen Ballard, Diane Warren, Desmond Child, some of the best songwriters and now best producers in the world. "You work with these people and things start to sink in". Three-and-a-half years later, Greene moved to EMI Music, where he served as chief engineer for eight years. From there he moved to San Francisco where for 8 years co-owned Motor Studios with NOFX front man and Fat Wreck Chords owner, Fat Mike. Greene now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he owns his own studio CRUSH RECORDING where he produced, engineering and mixing the debut album for F5, the new band formed by Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson. He is also producing 4 songs for Dishwalla. A far cry stylistically, you'd think, from punk bands but Greene does have a very rock background in music.
Ryan's Partner at Crush Recording is long time friend Steve Smith
Smith spent the past 5 years as the Senior Vice President of Programming for Clear Channel overseeing 350 stations, including the entire L.A., San Diego and San Francisco markets. Greene and Smith are working together in making CRUSH RECORDING the place to go. Producing project together they are the perfect combo.
